INFO ON GROWER
Domaine Emile et Rose is located in the heart of Languedoc-Roussillon at the small village of Corneilhan, close to Béziers. Caroline and Marcel Gisclard took over the family vineyard in 2004 which they inherited from their grandparents. In order to pay tribute to them, the estate was named Émile et Rose, the first names of the ancestors of the family. The vineyard is made up of plots in small hillsides, of low yield, where very old vines of Carignan, Aramon, Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah (Shiraz) and cabernet sauvignon rub shoulders. Here, we are in organic farming since the very beginning and they produce excellent micro-cuvées. Marcel is also known as one of the pioneers of orange wine in France; he was one of the first to visit Georgia to understand and learn their winemaking and ageing in amphora. The harvest is manual, natural vinification and ageing is done in barrels and amphora.
